C. Frank Rice
August 12, 1928 - April 3, 2007
Memorial services will be held at 11 am on Saturday, April 14th, at the Sweet Home Evangelical Church located at 1347 Long Street.
Frank rejoices in the presence of the Lord after a lengthy struggle with Kidney Disease. His last days were spent at home receiving loving care from his wife, Susan, and the watchful eye of his furry companion, Zeke.
He was born in Georgetown, IL, the son of Frank and Ino (Ramsey) Rice. Frank served in the US Army, 40th Infantry Division, during the Korean Conflict from 1950-1952.
Frank retired from AT&T in 1987 after 34 years. At that time the family relocated from Illinois to Phoenix, AZ. In 2002, a move to Sweet Home from Camp Verde, AZ was necessary due to health needs. He and his wife became active members of the Sweet Home Evangelical Church, and he continued his activities with his Kiwanis Club.
His many interests included woodworking, motorcycling, gardening, reading—loved his bible, and traveling. In the past few years his health prevented his one true enjoyment… motorcycling. Susan was a source of encouragement to help him attain optimum enjoyment of life.
Frank was a kind, soft-spoken, gentle, Godly man, and had an impish grin that made you wonder what he was thinking. He loved his family and will be greatly missed. He leaves behind his wife, Susan of 24 years; sons, Tim and wife Nancy of Pleasant Plains, IL, Tad and wife Vicki of Springfield, IL; daughters, Sheila and husband Rick of Ramona, CA, Amanda and husband Ted of Phoenix, AZ; three grandsons and three granddaughters. Parents had preceded Frank in death.
Memorial services will be held at 11 am on Saturday, April 14th, at the Sweet Home Evangelical Church located at 1347 Long Street.
