Bill Russell Robinson, 90, of Fresno, California (formerly of Sweet Home) passed away Friday in Fresno. He was born in Fresno, California to Charles and Hazel (Ferguson) Robinson.

He served in the United States Navy during WWII and survived the attack on the USS Wasp in the Pacific.

He lived for 32 years on Brush Creek Road in Sweet Home after retiring from Fresno City Schools.

Bill is survived by: daughters, Tova Blesh of Auberry,CA and Joanne Glasener of Kingsburg,CA; grandsons, Matthew Robinson, Brandon Pettitt, Alex Martinez, and Wynn Pettitt; and seven great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred “Jean” Robinson.

Graveside service was at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, July 12, 2014 at Gilliland Cemetery.

Sweet Home Funeral Chapel handled the arrangements.
