Betty Lucille Sullivan, 78, of Lebanon, Oregon passed away in Albany on Sunday. She was born in Byars, Oklahoma to William Henry and Phoebe May (Robbins) Sullivan. She was a client at Clare Bridge Memory Care for 27 months.

She lived in many places over her lifetime, including California, Oregon and Louisiana.

Betty was successful in many professions, including owning a restaurant, a flower shop and Grandmother’s Day Care in Salem. She managed grocery stores, several restaurants, was a cabinet builder, and never looked at any job as above her or below her. She tackled every new opportunity knowing that she would master it.

She loved her family, especially the little kids. She enjoyed water therapy and yard work. She loved roses, her dogs, vanilla ice cream, potato chips and coffee. She was a member of Calvary Chapel in Lebanon.

Betty was loved by many. She taught us to be loving and giving to others, to share and to take care of the underdog. She gave us our work ethic and the ability to know that nothing was impossible. She gave us confidence and instilled in us the need for God in our lives. Alzheimer’s took so much from Mom, but it never took her ability to tell people she loved them or to thank them.

She is survived by her sons, Dwight and his wife, Andrea McGhee, of Tumwater, Washington, Michael McGhee and Daniel McKinney of Kennewick, Washington; daughters Frances Phillips, Ginger and her husband, William Hankins, of Lebanon; eight grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren with two more on the way.

Betty was preceded in death by her son, Rick McKinney; granddaughter Rachel; three brothers; two sisters; mother and father; and nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be at 4;00 p.m., Saturday, October 19, at Sweet Home Funeral Chapel.
