Bertha Marie Charles, 83, of Sweet Home, Oregon passed away Monday, November 2, 2020. She was born in Lone Wolf, Oklahoma to William and Bertie Zella (Blair) Branam.

Bertha has lived in many places, including Oklahoma, California, Ohio, Harrisburg, LaPine, Junction City, and Sweet Home.

She owned her own craft shop in LaPine for many years. She enjoyed volunteering at various places, including the American Legion Post 45 where she was the women’s president. She was the Grand Marshall for the LaPine Parade in 1985. Bertha also competed in NW Belly Dancing Competitions.

Bertha is survived by her children: Camella “Candy” Boyd of Sweet Home, Samuel “Wayne” Boyd of Chiloquin, Steven Boyd of Lebanon, Timothy Boyd of Columbus, New Jersey; 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: her husband, Robert Charles; her parents; brother, Bob Branam; and sister, Betty Howell.

A memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 14, at The Church of the Nazarene, 600 W. D St., Lebanon, Oregon.
