Bertha Ann Pollock
January 19, 1937 – July 12, 2022
Bertha Ann Pollock, 90, of Sweet Home, went to Heaven on July 12, 2022.
She was born on the Moore Ranch at Euchre Creek in Ophir, Oregon on January 19,
1932 to Thomas L. and Jewell M. Moore. She grew up in Ophir, graduating valedictorian in her class of three. She married Arnold Lee Pollock on May 6, 1950 in Bandon, Oregon. They lived in a few places before settling in Sweet Home where Bert lived most of her adult live. She delivered newspapers, drove an ice cream truck (much to her children’s delight), worked at The Point Restaurant, and worked at White’s Electronics where she retired.
Bert loved sports and was particularly fond of Clyde Drexler with the Portland Trailblazers and Nascar’s Tony Stewart.
Bert is survived by her siblings, Bunny Hanks and Rod Moore of Ophir, Oregon; children,
Dennis of Kasaan, Alaska; Phil and his wife, Wendy, of Sweet Home, Oregon; Sue of Coquille, Oregon; Steve of Ophir, Oregon; Leanna of Coquille, Oregon; Glenn of Sweet Home, Oregon, and Mike of Sweet Home, Oregon. Bert was grandma to 17 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Bert is preceded in death by her two brothers, Tommy and Ole Moore.
The family will spread her ashes on the Moore Ranch up Euchre Creek at a later date.
In January, all of her children were with her to celebrate her 90th birthday. Her family was her greatest blessing.​
