Arda Lee Earle, 79, of Sweet Home, Oregon passed away Thursday, January 1, 2015. She was born in North Hornell, New York to Getchel Arthur and Gladys Marie (Reade) Thomas.

Arda lived in San Diego, California from 1965 to 1982, then moved to Forest Grove, Oregon until 1997 when she moved to Sweet Home. She worked as a receptionist for a stock brokerage, was a child evangelism teacher and a homemaker.

She was a member of the Sweet Home Evqngelical Church, Red Hats Society, a few garden clubs, Royal Neighbors and Retired Tugboat Association. Arda enjoyed gardening, reading, and healthy cooking.

Arda is survived by: her husband of 49 years, John L. Earle, of Sweet Home; sister, Jean Russell, of Westminster, California; and nieces, Debra Matas, Brenda Miller, and Audra Wilmoth, all of Desert Hot Springs, California. She was preceded in death by her brother, James Thomas, and sister, Barbara Weinberg.

Memorial contributions can be made in Arda’s name to Child Evangelism Fellowship of Linn County.

A viewing will take place at 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 9, at Sweet Home Evangelical Church. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Final burial will take place at Rock Ridge Cemetery in Sharon, Massachusetts.
