Archie Edward “Podge” Ray, 72, of Sweet Home, Oregon passed away Sunday, June 25. He was born in Broken Bow, Oklahoma to Leon and Beatrice (Ward) Ray. He was the youngest of three.

He was a member of Operator Engineers Local #3. He was also a carpenter and surveyor.

Podge loved to hunt and fish.

He is survived by his wife, Janice Ray, of Sweet Home; children Tricia and her husband, Jon Morgan, of Eureka, California, Billy White and Cindy Dodson of Sweet Home; brother Larry and his wife, Diana, of Clovis, New Mexico; aunt Helen of Boise, Idaho; ex-wife Sue Ray; and three grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Beatrice; his brother, Tom Ray; and many relatives in Oklahoma.

A celebration potluck will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 1, at the Gazebo across from Waterloo Park.
