Arravillia “Billie” Ann Barnard, 85, of Sweet Home passed away Saturday. She was born to Carl and Charlotte Hartman on April 7, 1937 in Brainerd, Minnesota. Her family moved to Oregon in 1937 when Billie was about six months old.

Billie met her future husband, Lloyd, in Waldport in 1951. They married on February 23, 1952 in Florence, and celebrated their 70th Wedding Anniversary this year. The two were nearly inseparable throughout their many years together. From the time of their marriage, they lived in Seal Rock, then moved in 1967 to the Willamette Valley, first to Cascadia, and then to Sweet Home, where they remained.

In 1980, Billie accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, and that beautiful relationship was the center of her heart and life from that point onward. She and her husband Lloyd were devoted to their church, their family, and their friends.

Billie had a great many hobbies, including but not limited to crochet, sewing, cooking, gardening and reading – especially her Bible. She found joy in making quilts and afghans for her loved ones.

Billie is survived by her husband Lloyd Barnard; six children: Everett Barnard and his wife Cynthia, Debra Gayler and her husband Karl, Paulina Wilcox and her husband Will, Juanita Crocker and her husband Perry, Angela Jensen and her husband Nels, Melissa Barnard and her partner John; she was a loving grandmother to her seventeen grandchildren; twenty-nine great grandchildren; and five great great grandchildren.

Billie was the youngest of three children. She had an older sister Claudette and a brother Sonny, both of whom preceded her in passing.

Memorial service will be 2:00 pm Saturday April 23rd at Full Gospel Church.
