Alma “Jean” Halbrook, 77 of Sweet Home passed away peacefully on Monday, September 30, 2024. She was born May 31, 1947, to Herman Priest and Hester “Lucille” (King) Priest in St. Louis, Missouri.

Jean was raised in St. Louis, Missouri and graduated from McKinley High School in 1967. She lived in Fayetteville, North Carolina from 1976 to 1989 then moved to Oregon. She worked in Sweet Home at Coast to Coast, then Thriftway and finally retired from Walmart in 2019.

Jean was a very hard worker that loved her children like no other. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. She also loved to travel, especially on cruise ships. She enjoyed visiting a casino or two from time to time. Jean was the life of the party! She greeted everyone with a smile and loved to make people laugh, uncontrollably at times. To know Jean was to love her.

Those left to cherish her memory include children: Ramie Halbrook III and his wife Eva, Doug Halbrook and his wife Dawn, Nicole Downs and her husband Jon. Her sister Linda Veach and husband Norm. Her grandchildren: Blyth Halbrook, Keegan Downs, Jadyn Halbrook, Sadie Halbrook, Tucker Downs, Ramie Halbrook IV, and Ally Downs. Great grandchild, Zephyr Halbrook.

Memorial service will be 4 pm Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at Sweet Home Evangelical Church. Sweet Home Funeral Chapel is handling arrangements. www.sweethomefuneral.com.
