Albert “Wayne” Duncan, 90, of Lebanon, Oregon passed away Thursday, February 25, 2016. He was born in Kansas City, Kansas to Owen Ray and Alta Mable (McMahon) Duncan, the last of four children.
Wayne served in the United States Navy from December 20, 1943 to June 4, 1946 with a rank of PTM3. While serving, he received the Asiatic Pacific Area Campaign Medal, American Area Campaign Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal.
He was raised in Sweet Home. He owned and operated D&M (Duncan and Moore) Logging Companyfor many years with Barney Moore. Wayne was also called “Peter” Duncan. He was a member of the Association Oregon Loggers for many years.
Wayne married Eileen Norman from Lebanon and they lived in Lebanon since 1957. They had two children.
He enjoyed fishing, camping, boating, coast and snowmobile outings, and many trips to their townhouse in Reno, Nevada.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Eileen Duncan; son Mark Duncan of Lebanon; daughter Jan Bldedsoe of Scio; grandchildren Jenni O’Connor of Lebanon, Stetson Shaffer of Salem, Jodi Lutz of St. Paul, and Chris Duncan of Keizer; six great grandchildren; two great, great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Owen Ray Duncan; mother Alta Mable Duncan; sisters Dorothy Palmer, Harriet Powers, and Lucille “Boots” Bergstrom.
