Alan Harper, 83, of Madras, Oregon passed away Thursday. He was born in Junction City to Robert James and Cora (Thayer) Harper.

He was born and raised in Junction City. He moved to Bend in 1976. In 2004, he moved to Madras and then on to Sweet Home in November of 2012 where he lived until he passed.

Alan was a construction worker. He enjoyed traveling, working around the house and yard, motorcycling, riding ATVs, and camping. He loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by: his wife of 29 years, Laverne Harper; children, Mark Toole of Madera, California, Mary Albin of Los Angeles, California, Barbara Clefton (Harper) of Madras, Brenda Waugh of Valencia, California, Kathy McCraven of Sweet Home, Trina Brogen of Bend, Jeff Medeiros of Tualaton; brother, Jim Harper of Bend; 12 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and two great, great grandchildren.

Alan was preceded in death by: his parents, Cora and Robert Harper; brothers, Bill Harper and Malcolm Harper; sisters, Mary Harper Detering, Hannah Harper Koch, and Verona Harper Calvert.

Arrangements are under the direction of Sweet Home Funeral Chapel.
