Wesley E. Ackley, 73, of Sweet Home passed away Sunday. He was born in Marshall Town, Iowa to Russell and Bessie (Fraham) Ackley.

He served in the United States Navy for four years. He then served as a Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force for 20 years. He retired inSweet Home in 1992.

Wesley was well known in town as the man in a cowboy hat.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years Marty Ackley; daughter DeDee Gebhardt of Dallas, Texas; son Kevin Ackley of Dallas, Texas; 13 grandchildren; three great grandchildren.

Wesley was preceded in death by: his son, Brian Ackley; father, Russell Ackley; and mother, Bessie Ackley.

Memorial contributions can be made in Wesley’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association.
