Sharon M. Rains, 72, of Sweet Home, Oregon passed away Friday, April 11, 2014. She was born in Billings, Montana to Jesse and Dorothy (Brown) Skaggs.
She was married to Robert C. Rains from 1958 to 1982. Sharon and two of her children then moved to Oregon to be with her sister, Shirley. Eventually all of her children followed her to Oregon.
Sharon drove school bus with Shirley for the Sweet Home School District, and she also worked at the Vets club. That was where she met Jerry Kittson. They have enjoyed the last 30 years together. She loved him with all her heart. She also worked at Pierce Mobile Homes while living in Montana and always worked extra jobs to make ends meet.
She endured so much in her life. That was what made her such a strong, loving woman. She fought a good fight and never wanted to give up.
Sharon loved her flowers and enjoyed watching the birds. We can’t forget how much she loved watching her Oregon Ducks Football Team. She also loved her animals very much. That is how she earned her grandma names; Grandma Daisy and Grandma Bird. She was also called Grammy and was loved so very much by all.
Sharon is survived by: her companion of 30 years, Jerry Kittson; children Tanna Rains, Pam and Leroy Sylvester, Becky Massad, Robert Rains, Lonny and Myra Rains, and Carrie and Bruce Fineran; sister Shirley Lamb; brother Ralph Skaggs; 17 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: her mother, Dorothy Skaggs; father Jesse Skaggs; daughter Lisa Rains; brothers Joe and Earl; and recently by brother-in-law Raymond Lamb.
