Roy Dale “Bear” Williamson, 60, of Sweet Home passed away January 5, 2022. He was born in Lebanon to Ray James and LaMona E. (Stein) Williamson.

He was raised in Lebanon, Sweet Home and Klamath Falls. He attended Lebanon Union, Mazama and Klamath Union High Schools.

Bear served in the United States Army serving his country with Pride, Honor and Patriotism from 1979 – 1986. He was a SP4 Cavalry Scout 19D10. He received these Special Honors: Good Conduct Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon with Numeral 1. He also received the Overseas Service Ribbon.

After his military service he was employed as a meat cutter for Safeway and later Assistant Manager at Market of Choice Meat Department.

He loved the outdoors both hunting and fishing, his Harley motorcycles and barbecuing. He was very skilled and competitive at the game of Horseshoes. A die-hard Washington Red Skins Fan for Life and NASCAR racing. He loved spending time with his friends and family. He cherished his dog Chumley.

Bear is survived by his life partner of 27 years Christine of Sweet Home; children: Casey Carter of Brownsville, Brandi Nix of Lebanon; mother and stepfather LaMona (Stein) and Earnie Williamson of Klamath Falls; father and stepmother Ray and Pat James of Scio; brothers: Gary(Patti) Williamson-James of Salem, Rick (Laura Lynn) Williamson of Prineville; sisters: Taunia (Kenny) Davidson of Tigard, Tammy Moreland of Lebanon; 7 grandchildren; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
