Viewing will be 10:00 a.m., to noon Friday, May 16, at Sweet Home Funeral Chapel. Graveside service with full military honors, officiated by Steve Smith, Colonel USAF Retired, will be at 1:00 p.m., Friday, May 16, at Lewis Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Robert’s favorite organizations: Disabled American Veterans; American Cancer Society; or the Humane Society.
Robert E. Jeffreys, Capt. USAF Retired, 88, of Foster, Oregon passed away Monday. He was born in Drumright, Oklahoma to John F. and Ruby I. (Boyle) Jeffreys.
Robert served in the United States Air Force as a Captain. He was Inducted in 1941 and Retired in 1962.
He lived in Oklahoma, and then around the world with his various military assignments. He moved to Sweet Home in 1980.
Robert worked with the military and for Chrysler Corp. He was a member of the Masonic Order, Elks and recently with the VFW.
He enjoyed fishing and working with anything mechanical. He patiently taught many family members how to fish and straightened out everyone’s fishing line.
Robert is survived by: his wife, Reva Jo Jeffreys, of Foster; daughters Virginia McNamara of Phoenix, OR and Pamella Smith of New Baden, IL; son Thomas Jeffreys of Applegate, CA; step-daughters Judy VanSholten of Eugene, Connie Hilton of Gig Harbor, WA, and Sandra Lorenzen of Eugene; sisters Virginia Deda of Ponca City, OK and Shirley LaRue of Whittier, CA; brothers Donald Jeffreys of Apple Valley, CA and Johnny Jeffreys of LaHabra, CA; five grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and three great, great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by: his first and second wives, Helen V. Jeffreys and Arlene Jeffreys; son Robert “Bobby” Jeffreys, Jr.; brother Albert Leo Jeffreys; and granddaughter Stephanie Alayne Smith.
