Reu A. Reeve, age 39, of Sweet Home passed away Sunday. He was born in Stockton, California to Patrick R. and Gloria Jean (Gulick) Reeve.
Reu’s true devotion was his family. He gave of his time generously to any one in need and had a true love for life.
He was raised in a military family stationed around the Bay Area, including Treasure Island. He attended Stagg High School in Stockton, California and ITT Sacramento. He relocated to Oregon in 1992 with Hewlett Packard. He resided in Corvallis and later moved to Sweet Home with his family.
Reu worked as an automation technician for Hewlett Packard for 17 years. He was a Sunday School Teacher at the Pentecostal church of Jesus Christ in Stockton and loved playing trumpet for worship services.
Reu was an avid outdoorsman and had deep love of Oregon and all its majesty. He liked elk hunting, mountain biking, camping with the family, cooking and entertaining for friends and family. He was a master welder and loved metal working. Reu loved tinkering with his off road vehicles, his beloved Dodge Ram truck and Polaris. He really liked traveling, especially to the Hawaiian Islands and Yellowstone.
He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Anne Marie Petri Reeve; his two beautiful children: Flynn – his apprentice in training 6 years, and Beatrice – 2 years old, who brightened each day with joy. Parents: Patrick and Gloria Reeve of Sprague, Washington, father-in-law Lanny and Kay Petri of Roseburg, Oregon. Siblings: Renee Young of Fairfield, Washington, Rhonda Speelman of Ripon, California, Rita McGrath of Cheney, Washington. Brother in law Norman Petri of Roseburg, Oregon.
