Raymond Douglas Friend, 72, of Sweet Home, Oregon died Sunday, October 27, 2013. He was born in Hemmit, California to John M. and Joyce (Parker) Friend.

He moved to Oregon in 1968, and then to Sweet Home in 1972. He worked as a logger his entire life.

Raymond was a member of the Elks and enjoyed doing things with the VFW and the American Legion. Raymond was also a member of the Moose Lodge in Craig, Alaska.

He enjoyed the outdoors and went fishing and hunting when he was younger. He loved restoring hot rods and coin collecting.

Raymond is survived by: his daughter, Janice Christenson; son, John and his wife Desalea; step-daughter, Peggy Davis; brothers, Mike Brauer and Kevin Brauer; sister, Jackie Stienbarger; grandchildren, Jessie, Bradley, Ashley, and Shawnee.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jani Friend.
