Phyllis Jean Powers, 77, of Lebanon passed away Thursday, December 19, 2024. She was born on November 10, 1947 to Willie James and Dorothy May (Schaller) Ray in San Fernando, California

Phyllis lived in Grass Valley, California until 1987 when she met and married Larry Dee Powers in January of that year. The family moved to Riverside, California shortly thereafter. After Larry joined the LDS church in 1990, they got sealed in the Los Angeles Temple in 1995.

Phyllis and Larry had many foster children grace their home throughout the years in California. She loved to sew and crochet and sewed all her children’s clothes. She loved being around water and they were constantly at the Lake and rivers. After the kids were grown and gone, they moved to Lebanon in 2003 and stayed there until they both passed away in 2024. Phyllis did daycare for some wonderful families during that time.

Phyllis is survived by her two daughters; Theresa White and Tamara Ridout and three grandchildren; James, Shyanna and Ibn and her sister Dottie Raysuter. She was preceded in death by her husband Larry and granddaughter Destiny White.

Viewing will be 10:30 am Monday, January 6th, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Lebanon. Funeral service will follow at 11 am. Burial will follow at Gilliland Cemetery in Sweet Home. Sweet Home Funeral Chapel is handling arrangements. www.sweethomefuneral.com.
