Peggy L. Morehead, 66, of Sweet Home passed away at Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital on Saturday. She was born in Grand Junction, Colorado to Earl L. and Virginia M. (Graham) Hendrickson.

She came to Sweet Home in 1952. Peggy was a world class waitress and cook from 1990 to 2004. She worked at Mollies Bakery and at The Oaks Retirement home as a dietary supervisor from 2004 to 2012.

Peggy was a member of Riverside Christian Church. She enjoyed gardening and loved her grandchildren.

She is survived by: her husband, James Morehead of Sweet Home; children, Gina Long and James Morehead of Sweet Home, Dana Couey of Springfield, and Patrick Morehead of Sweet Home; father, Earl Hendrickson of Sweet Home; sister, Sue Tenbusch of Sweet Home; and six grandchildren.

Peggy was preceded in death by her mother, Virginia Hendrickson, in 1976 and brother, Earl Hendrickson, in 1977.

A celebration of Peggy’s life will be held at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at Riverside Christian Church; 42855 Green River Drive; Sweet Home.

Arrangements are under the direction of Sweet Home Funeral Chapel.
