Jim Maynard, 72, of Sweet Home, Oregon passed away Sunday, December 8, 2013. He was born in Orchard Rural, Nebraska to Ivan and Nellie (Warnke) Maynard.

Jim served our country honorably as a United States Marine. He worked as a long haul truck driver and a log truck driver for most of his life. He retired from Wimer Logging in 2000. Jim loved working on old cars and reading western books.

He is survived by: his wife, Evelyn Maynard; sons, Daniel Maynard and Jimmy Dean Maynard; daughter, Leslie Maynard; step-sons, Michael and wife Ellen Petermen and Jeff and wife Traci Petermen; sister, Kay and husband Bill Cope; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 18, at Sweet Home Funeral Chapel with a reception following.
