Linda Renoud, 72, of Sweet Home, passed away on March 8, 2023 at the Salem Hospital surrounded by her close family.
Linda came into this world on a Monday in the town of Sweet Home to Noel and Lavida Richards. At the time they had four other children: Barbara, Sharon, Shirley and Steve. Some time later she was joined by a younger brother, Mike, and so the Richards family was complete.
Linda grew up in Sweet Home, went to local schools and graduated from Sweet Home High School. She met her husband Greg while in school and after a year of dating they were married. Linda and Greg had three wonderful sons, Treg, Chad and Ryan. The Renouds lived in the Sweet Home area for the rest of her life.
Linda absolutely loved to cook and she was great at it. She even made a recipe book and gave it to family and friends. She enjoyed camping, dancing and bow hunting. In the 70’s she played slow pitch softball locally and in tournaments around the area. She also played pool, went to casinos, played bingo and even went fishing a few times. Over the years, she traveled to Mexico with her three sisters and went to Canada, Florida, Reno and Las Vegas with friends and family. Linda’s favorite thing of all was her two grandkids, Everett and Lorelei, and being able to spend time with them.
Linda was known for her generosity and compassion for others. For the past five years she has helped care for her mother who is in assisted living. Her sense of humor and wittiness made her a pleasure to be around.
Linda was smart and interested in learning and trying new things. For years she helped her husband run Greg’s Sporting Goods. In the early 1990’s she decided to pursue a dream and went to beauty school and became a hairdresser. She worked at it for a few years and left it to go back into real estate where she worked until she retired in August 2019. Although Linda worked a number of jobs over the years, her passion was in real estate sales and she was well known in the area.
Linda is survived by Greg, her husband of 57 years. She also leaves behind her son Treg of St. Petersburg, Florida, Chad of Oregon City, and Ryan and wife Tonya and their two children, Everett and Lorelei, of Sweet Home. She is also survived by her mother and 5 siblings.
A graveside service will be held at Lewis Cemetery on Saturday, March 18, at 2:00. Family and friends are welcome. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shriner’s Hospital or your favorite charity.
