Lance Morgan Hawken, 42, of Sweet Home, Oregon died Friday, August 2, 2013. He was born in National City, California to Bill and Janice (Morgan) Hawken.

Lance was seven when his family moved to Sweet Home, where he lived the remainder of his life.

He worked as general contractor of Hawken Construction and most recently worked at Chambers Construction. Lance enjoyed coaching teams that his children played on and spending time with family and friends camping, backpacking and hunting.

He was a longtime member of the Sweet Home Mennonite Church and most recently attended Sweet Home Community Chapel.

Lance is survived by: Cathy; children, Madelyn Hawken, Kate Hawken, Torree Hawken, and Bill Hawken; sister, Loree Hawken Durham (and her husband, Brian); nephews, David and Andrew Durham; and mother, Janice Hawken. He was preceded in death by his father, Bill Hawken (2000).

Viewing will be 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 7, at Sweet Home Funeral Chapel. A celebration of life service will take place at 3:30 p.m., Thursday, August 8, at Community Chapel on Ames Creek. Burial will be at Glen Abbey Memorial Park in Bonita, California.
