Joshua Caleb Jefferson
February 27, 1984 – September 2, 2023

Joshua Caleb Jefferson, of Lebanon, Oregon died September 2, 2023, in a tragic car accident. Josh was born February 27, 1984, in Anchorage, Alaska, and moved to Lebanon, Oregon, when he was two years old, where he attended elementary and high school.

Josh is survived by his parents, Julie Jefferson (Brian) Sweet Home, Oregon, and Eric Jefferson (Lisa) Marcola, Oregon. Josh’s three brothers were his best friends throughout his life: Matthew Jefferson, Sweet Home, Oregon; Aaron Jefferson, Lebanon, Oregon; and Seth Jefferson (Ellie), Gig Harbor, Washington. The loves of his life were his beautiful daughters, Bekah Jefferson, Eugene, Oregon; Hailey Jefferson and Callie Jefferson, Lebanon, Oregon; Brother-in-law Jason Howard (Katie), sister-in-law Jayna Howard (Brian), nieces Maddi, Ashlyn, Atalee, and Avery, Lebanon, Oregon, stepbrothers Brandon Mankle, Bellingham, Washington, Brett Mankle, Stuttgart, Germany, and Adrian Higham, La Pine, Oregon.

Besides being a devoted father, Josh’s passion for being outdoors brought him immense joy. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved camping, fishing, hiking, gold-panning, and hunting. He taught himself to play guitar as a teenager and continued to play throughout his life. He was artistic and loved his family fiercely. His fun humor made everyone laugh because he was always silly and sarcastic. Although Josh was a quiet-spoken man about his faith, he loved the Lord and the wonders of God’s creations. Josh’s smile and compassionate heart were bigger than the outdoors that he loved. He was a daredevil and risk-taker, living in the moment. He enjoyed outdoor sports until his late twenties when he was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis, which slowed him down but did not stop him.

Josh is preceded in death by grandparents Macel and Betty Jefferson, Norman Clyde and Diane Hilliard, Roger and Jan Gerdes, Uncle Michael Hilliard, and Aunt Terrie Burnett.

Services will be 1 p.m Saturday, September 9, 2023 at Sweet Home Funeral Chapel. Please dress casually, as Josh would prefer it that way.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Obria of Lebanon, Oregon, or a charity of your choice.
