Jerry Lee Upward, 68, of Sweet Home passed away Thursday. He was born in Lewellen, Nebraska to Richard Francis and Lyvonne D. (Whitmayer) Upward.

Jerry was inducted into the U.S. Navy in 1961 and served until 1966. He came to the Sweet Home area in 1971 and worked in the logging industry until he retired.

Jerry is survived by: his wife, Georgia Upward of Sweet Home; six children and four step children; six grandchildren and seven step grandchildren; six step great grandchildren; two sisters and two half-brothers. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.

A memorial service will be 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 6, at Sweet Home Elks Lodge. Memorial contributions can be made in his name to Sweet Home VFW or Sweet Home Elks B.P.O.E. 1972.

Arrangements are under the direction of Sweet Home Funeral Chapel.
