James Jerome Hickey, 89, of Sweet Home passed away Thursday. He was born in Dougherty, Iowa to Sylvester “SJ” and Katherine (Calahan) Hickey.

He graduated from LeRoy High School in LeRoy Minnesota. James served as a Corporal in the United States Army from 1953 – 1955. He served served during the Korean War. He marred Donna J. Kobbe in Billings, Montana on November 17, 1956.

James worked as a Supervisor for Western Electric for 35 years. He was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church.

He enjoyed woodworking, hunting and mechanics.

James is survived by his wife Donna Hickey of Sweet Home; his children: Mary Margaret Kisman of Boise, Idaho, Teresa Kloehn of Eugene, James R. Hickey of South Prairie, Washington, Richard W. Hickey of Monroe, Washington; brother Charles P. Hickey of Minnesota; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brother Eugene Hickey and sister Margaret Stratiff.

Viewing will be 1:00 pm, Friday November 18th, at St. Helen Catholic Church, Rosary will follow at 1:30 with a Funeral Mass at 2:00 pm. Placement at Gilliland Cemetery will be at a later date.
