Iris Bruckbauer, 94, of Foster, Oregon passed away Saturday, April 12, 2014. She was born in Mapperly, Nottingham, England to William Henry and Alicia Mary (Wolthington) Heslop.

Iris lived in Illinois and Wisconsin, and eventually moved to Oregon in 1965. She was part of Santiam Sams, VFW and American Legion.

She was trained as a nurse at South Hampton Hospital in England during WWII. She worked for several local doctors and dentists while living in Wisconsin, Illinois, and Oregon. She also worked as a nurse’s aide at Lebanon Community Hospital.

Iris loved knitting, tailoring, embroidery, tutoring, and all types of arts and crafts.

She is survived by: her son, Scott Bruckbauer; brother, John Heslop; partner of 30 years, Marvin Bacher; step son, Floyd Bacher; and step granddaughter, Melanie Bacher.

Iris was preceded in death by: her husband, Andrew Bruckbauer; sister, Lilian Merriweather; and brother, William Heslop.

Services will be at a later date. Memorial contributions can be made in Iris’s name to Samaritan Evergreen Hospice.
