Gary R. Schneider, 64, of Sweet Home passed away Sunday at home. He was born in Pendleton, Oregon to Raymond and Julia (McMichael) Schneider.

Gary served in the US Navy as an electronics tech from 1968 to 1974 on the USS Enterprise and was in the reserves from 1979 to 1992.

He worked at: US Natural Resources electronics in Woodland, Washington; White’s Electronics in Sweet Home; and Hewlett Packard in Corvallis. He enjoyed fixing and collecting radios and listening to music.

Gary is survived by: his wife, Frances; daughter, Caryn Schneider of Sweet Home; son, Robert Schneider, and daughter-in-law, Tamisha Schneider, of Sweet Home; mother, Julia Schneider of Hermiston; brother, Dennis Schneider of Hermiston; and sister, Debbie Hulen of Hermiston. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Nicole Schneider; sister, Karen Hall; and father, Raymond Schneider.

Graveside services will be at the Hermiston Cemetery. Contributions may be made in Gary’s memory to the American Cancer Society or the Shriner’s Hospital.

Arrangements are under the direction of Sweet Home Funeral Chapel.
