Doris May Zumwalt, 70, of Foster, Oregon passed away Friday, November 8, 2013. She was born in Picher, Oklahoma to Robert and Ruth Elenore (Gratton) Randson. Her mother was half Cherokee Indian.

Doris married Stanley Zumwalt in 1963 in Reno, Nevada. They lived in the San Martin/ Morgan Hill, California area. Later, they made their way north, living in San Jose and, eventually, Brownsville, Oregon in 1993. The couple had always wanted to live in Oregon.

Doris attended the Brownsville and Lebanon Assembly of God churches.

She was a tomboy when she was younger and, as a youth, she enjoyed fishing, hunting, and the outdoors. She loved flower gardening, watching birds, and country drives.

Doris is survived by: her husband, Stanley Zumwalt of Foster; brothers, Bob Hicks of Stockton, Missouri, Louis Hicks of Birkenfeld, Richard Hicks of Brownsville, and Roger Hicks of Sweet Home; sisters, Charlotte Hunter of Sweet Home, Deloris Clinton of Brownsville, and Joyce Hicks and Ruth Peters of Red Bluff, California.

Doris was preceded in death by two brothers, Eddy Hicks and James “Jimmy” Hicks.
