Bryce Christian Whisenant, 37, of Lebanon passed away after a hard fought battle with cancer. Bryce was the second of five boys born to Gerald Christian Whisenant and Jill (Conger) Whisenant in Edmonds, Washington.
Bryce was active and fun loving all his life. He attended public schools in Everett, Washington and in Beaverton, Oregon. Music was always a central part of his life. Bryce was a dedicated member of the band at Southridge High School, where he played the trumpet. He enjoyed singing in the Encore Youth choir. He also became a talented guitar player and singer. Bryce took to the outdoors with great enthusiasm. He enjoyed sharing his love of nature with friends while camping and hiking. He was a standout Boy Scout who earned his Eagle Scout Badge. While finishing high school, he went to work in the construction industry and was tutored by his Uncle Chris Whisenant. This work experience provided a great foundation to his future career. Bryce served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Oklahoma City, Oklahoma mission. When he returned from Oklahoma, he enrolled at Brigham Young University where he studied Facilities Management. While at BYU, he was lucky enough to meet, fall for, and marry Christine. They were married and sealed for time and all eternity in 2012. After graduation, Bryce went to work for his church as a Facilities Manager in Iowa. After a few years, he had the opportunity to move back to Oregon – much to the joy of his Oregon-based parents and siblings. His greatest joy was his wife and his three sons: Hunter, Dean, and Tex. Together they remodeled a darling home in Lebanon, Oregon. They have enjoyed living in the warm embrace of their community and the friends they have made there.
Bryce is survived by his wife and three children. He is also survived by his parents, his brothers Thomas (Becki), Evan (Renee), David (Wes) and Jacob (Brenna) as well as many beloved friends and family members who will miss his bright light in their lives.
