Betty Mozelle Linton Vogel passed away in Sweet Home, Oregon, October 25, 2008. Betty was born in Velma, Oklahoma on July 4, 1935. Her family moved to Dale, Illinois where she graduated from McLeansboro High School in 1951. After attending business college in St.Louis, Missouri, Betty lived with her family in Algiers, Louisiana. Their son, Robert Arthur Vogel, was born in 1965, and, soon after, they moved to Redlands, California where they started a computer data processing company. They returned to their Oregon ranch in 1977.

During the eighties, Betty earned a Bachelor of Science degree in anthropology and a Master’s degree in archaeology from Oregon State University. She worked for several years as a curator for the Marion County Museum in Salem.
