Betty June (Points) Rice, 74, of Sweet Home passed away at home Monday after a long battle with cancer. She was born in Corydon, Iowa to John and Verna (Miner) Points.

She married Charles Rice in August of 1951. They divorced in 1988. She lived most of her life in Sweet Home. She was a member of the Ames Creek Neighbors Club for many years and a member of the Sweet Home V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary for 37 years. She loved to play Bunko and loved her Bunko friends.

Betty is survived by her three children: Carol (Larry) Krigbaum, Charles “John” Rice, and Debbie Rice; sisters,: Marita Schiller of Waterloo, Iowa and Janie Berg of Cascadia; brother, Charles Points of Winona, Missouri; five grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son, David “Lee” Rice, and her mother and father.

Memorial contributions may be made to Samaritan Evergreen Hospice and sent to the Sweet Home Funeral Home.
