Barbara McKinnon, 80, of Sweet Home, Oregon died peacefully on Monday, April 13, at Samaritan Region Medical Center in Corvallis, with her two daughters by her side.

She was born March 8, 1935 to Emil and Martha (Hartikainen) Johnson in Orr, Minnesota.

On July 24, 1953 she married Wilbur (Willy) McKinnon in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. Willy was in the U.S. Army and they spent their time together traveling the world. They had three daughters; Dixie, Cheryl, and Tammie. Willy passed away in July of 1970.

In 1971, she met her life partner, Kenneth (Dale) Lefler. They had 43 years together before he passed away in September of 2014.

Barbara was a successful business woman. She owned and operated “Magic Scissors Salon” for 20 years.

She was preceded in death by: her daughter, Cheryl; brothers, Roger, Charlie, and Bill; and sisters, Lorna and Ardelle.

Barbara leaves behind: daughters Dixie Oxender and husband, Monte, and Tammie McCorkhill and husband, Rod; grandchildren Mark, Brian, Michele, and Stephanie; great-grandchildren David, Connor, Bella, Tyler, Brock and Logan; and sister Gail Miller and husband, Roger, of Winchester, Wisconsin.
